Fire on charter plane


An Egyptian plane carrying Polish Tourists from Hurghada to Warsaw caught fire. Norwegian pilot performed emergency landing in Istanbul, Turkey after some technical difficulties. Upon approach the landing gear was not working and the plane landed on its fuselage sparking fire. The flames were put out and only one person was slightly injured.

The flight AMV4270 by AMC Airlines was carrying 156 passengers and 7 crew members.

AMC Airlines is a charter carrier operating from 1992 between European airports and a few tourist destinations in Egypt. Its fleet consists of 5 planes, and the airline is expecting to receive further 4 planes within the next 2 years.
