Skandynawskie linie lotnicze wyznaczyły na piątek termin całodniowego strajku obsługi pokładowej. Weźmie w nim udział ok. 800 członków załogi ze Szwecji. Z tego powodu SAS odwołał większość piątkowych rejsów międzynarodowych, które startują lub lądują w Sztokholmie oraz niemal wszystkie krajowe loty wewnątrz Szwecji. Strajk nie dotyczy lotów do USA, Azji, a także rejsów obsługiwane przez duńską i norweską część SAS.
Przedstawiciele związku zawodowego odrzucili plan podwyżki pensji o 10,2 proc. w ciągu 38 miesięcy, ponieważ nie rozwiązywał on kwestii godzin pracy. SAS musi ciąć koszty w związku z rosnącymi cenami paliwa oraz konkurencji ze strony tanich linii lotniczych.

A strike by 800 Swedish cabin crew with the airline SAS looks almost certain to go ahead on Friday after their trade union rejected an improved wage and working conditions offer made by independent mediators. The workers were offered a 10.2% pay rise over 38 months, tied to a no-strike agreement. The union said it could not accept the mediators' proposals because the issue of working hours had not been included. SAS has clashed with its staff over moves to cut costs which it says it has to do because of strong competition from budget carriers and higher fuel prices. The airline said a strike would not affect flights to and from the US and Asia or those by its Danish and Norwegian units. Last month SAS staff in Denmark walked out in a wildcat strike that lasted for three days leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights.

Scandinavian Airlines officials and union representatives have signed a new collective bargaining agreement for its Swedish cabin crews, ending a four-day strike.
About 800 flight attendants who walked off their jobs on Friday would return to work immediately, but Scandinavian Airlines, or SAS, would not resume a normal flight schedule until Wednesday.
"I am happy and relieved that we are back in the air," said Anders Ehrling, chief executive of the three-nation carrier's Swedish branch.
Around 90,000 passengers were affected when SAS canceled 1,200 flights to and from Sweden because of the strike, which the airline said was costing $3 million a day in lost ticket sales.
